Welcome to Floodland
Whats new? Having forgotten all about this little corner of the web - its been left to rot for a while, but its back to being updated again. Have added some more random drivel and there is a nice new photo gallery that I will fill over the coming weeks with all the pictures I have. A good few thousand last time I counted. Myspace, livejournal, photobucket, blog this, blog that - why have multiple chaos, when you can just have it all in one place. And this is it. So, it doesnt have 93 million extended network profiles looking at it and I dont have a huge list of friends to swell my ego and rate highly in a popularity contest, but thats not what life is about is it! |

Without equal, Virgin Media are possibly the worst provider of Broadband and TV services this side of the sun.
The ‘rudest’ award definitely goes to them for their lacklustre
effort at listening to the customer and their sometimes blatant
attempts at getting you off the phone as soon as possible – presumably
to meet their quota of pissing ‘X’ number of people off in a single
day, whilst unwilling to pass you onto someone that might possibly have
some ability to actually do something about a complaint.

Been a while since I did an update. Partly because I am really busy and partly becuase far too much is happening at the moment.
When I get more than a couple of seconds, I'll write one, though much has happened so it might get a bit long...

It's been a very odd day. I have done nothing for the past 8 hours except construct quotes for pieces of work. While I'm quite happy building quotes with nice fat numbers in them - it does get a bit tedious.
Having to sit there and try to work out what you are worth, how long it's going to take and whether it's a competetive price or not is a bit of a mind-fuck at times and you know that as soon as you have sent it - you re-read it and wish you'd done it slightly differently! Were those prices too much? Were they too little? Have you shot yourself in the foot over the timeframe?
All moot points if the quote is successful, but does mess with your mind a bit before they come back with a 'yay' or 'nay'.

I just can't be arsed today. No, really, I'm struggling to keep my mind focused to be able to do anything meaningful. I have a stack of truly soul-destroying work to wade through which I just keep putting off and putting off and.... putting off.
I hate days like this, where they are as productive and a failed IVF couple!
Yawn.

| Mighty erections in Arundel |
|
... of the tent variety. The weekend was spent 'camping it up' down in sunny Sussex, near Arundel castle. Louis wasn't well enough to travel this time, so we managed to persuade granny to look after him for a couple of days while we had a well earned break...

| Grey, overcast, slightly colder - fantastic! |
|
The sun isn't out. Shock horror! Great. :) It is almost impossible to concentrate when its stupid degrees outside. It is distracting and difficult to be creative if your brain is turning to mush. Easier on the wallet too as you dont have to have multiple air con uints blasting cold air in your face to combat the excessive heat.
In related news - the air con was was the best buy of the year so far, but at £300 a piece, far from a bargin!
I'm in a bouncy mood today... something must be wrong!

I find myself strangely productive today! Despite the fact that I am rushed off my feet and lacking time to do anything other than concentrate and am slowly catching up with my formidable in-tray that I still cant see over. On top of this - Cheques are flooding in and quotes have been flying out - some of which have been accepted quite quickly.
Still waiting for the others to respond.

| We came, we saw, we left... |

In a spontaneous move, we ended up going to the Pit last night. I have to admit, I really couldnt be arsed, but end up there we did. Arrived very late and as I hadn't eaten all day (as usual), sustinance was required first - but not before diving in to the Duke to use the privy, then promptly scampering off to any eatery that was still open - which confused all, as I sped past the congregated populous.

| Weekends are supposed to be fun - aren't they? |
|
God I'm bored. Stuck in the office today doing some very mundane chores that I managed to deffer all week - but, like most things in life - you have to do them eventually. Wouldn't mind so much, but they really are unfiesably boring items to be doing on a Saturday afternoon.

| Myspace - or lack thereof |
|
Myspace really is quite pants! I appreciate that is is an entity on a very large scale, with 93 million profiles (Or something like that) and therefore probably has quite a few very large databases, but come on, if Dell can run an enormous ecommerce site with support for this and support for that (And Microsoft, HP, IBM etc come to think of it), which is infinately bigger than myspace and now that I ponder, ebay springs to mind as well, surely myspace can do it properly.

| Friday's... Never go the way you want them to... |
|
I had intended to have a nice, peacefull plodding sort of day - completely spoilt the moment the sun came up! Last nights torrential downpour flooded the bathroom and part of my bedroom (Old houses are not that clever at keeping the rain out it would seem). The garden looked like the Somme and water lay everywhere.

... and the answer is no. For I have air conditioning and won't sweat buckets when the temp soars beyond the ridiculous later today.
This heatwave is costing me a small fortune - Air con isn't particularly economical on the pocket and will be wholey thankful when the rain comes and the temp drops to a sensible level!

Whilst in a creative and ‘getting my hands dirty with code’ kind of mood – I have resurrected this monstrosity. Partly driven by the fact that Myspace is pants for anything other than hurling abuse at people, waiting around for the server to work and getting spammed with endless rubbish.
